According to a recent publication by THE DETROIT NEWS, the 2012 Chevy Sonic production could be affected by a looming strike. Christina Rogers reported that "workers... are trying to decide if they should strike over unresolved contract issues" (Rogers-2011). This appears to be normal business negations and one can assume a resolution will be reached in a timely manner.

According to a recent web article from GM INSIDER News, published on June 20, 2011 the Chevy Sonic, predecessor to the Chevy AVEO is expected to have an RS styling package option available in 2013.
