GM News released a press statement confirming the 2012 Chevy Sonic turbo motor with six-speed manual transmission has been ranked by the EPA as having an estimated 40 MPG on the highway and 29 MPG in the city (1). This is a marginal improvement over the standard 2012 Sonic 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engine which earned marks from the EPA as having 35 MPG on the highway and 26 MPG in the city (1).
